Celloglas finish invitation for the Edeline Lee S/S16 collection presentation on new scodix press

Celloglas were recently approached by fashion designer Edeline Lee and her team to help create an eye-catching invitation for the presentation of her Spring/Summer 2016 clothing collection at London Fashion Week. The presentation was on September 18th at Elms Lesters Painting Rooms, an Edwardian painting studio located in central London.

The designer, who has apprenticed at Alexander McQueen, John Galliano and worked for both Zac Posen and Rodnik, wanted the invitation to reflect the textures and acid pastel colours from her collection. The invite was digitally printed on an HP Indigo press with four colour process on to 220g Mirri Holographic Rainbow for HP Indigo. The text and various geometric shapes were picked out from the design and a brand new digital gloss spot polymer was applied to these areas using Celloglas’ newly installed Scodix press.

The invite was printed and mounted onto a thick white card by digital printer Conservatree, based in Reading. Richard Gillgrass, Managing Director at Celloglas commented, “Mounting the Mirri on to card created a premium look with a substantial feel. Coupled with the digitally applied raised varnish and the holographic effect from the rainbow material, the end result was a beautiful piece, produced using the latest print and finish technologies available”.

Celloglas were invited along to the presentation that was set amongst two rooms to view Edeline’s creations. Inside the first room, models stood within a large 3-dimensional painting produced by Switzerland-based artist Kyung Roh. In the second room, Roh decorated the walls and floors with paintings and ribbons that replicated the shapes and colours of the collection. These ideas were also used to produce the graphic for the invite.

Edeline Lee commented on the result of the invite. ‘I want to thank Celloglas for their help with our invitations. They were so beautiful – people were very impressed. The finishes suited my collection so well and really made for a striking invite to stimulate excitement for the presentation. I really hope that we can work together again!’

The presentation has since had press coverage from Wallpaper magazine, Vogue, Grazia and Refinery 29 to name a few. It has also had great interest from fashion bloggers such as Susie Bubble and has been featured on various popular Instagram accounts such as Vogue Italia and Vogue Turkiye.
