New Product launched by Celloglas, to support MRSA cleanup

Industry innovators and specialists in decorative print finishing, Celloglas this month launches a new film with far reaching potential for reducing the spread of illnesses such as M.R.S.A and Staphylococcus, as a new report shows that improving the cleanliness of objects that people frequently touch in hospitals could dramatically reduce infections.*

A film that when laminated to a card, menu, or other indeed any other surface, (such as a liner for a hospital food tray) Cellomed works to continuously provide an added level of protection in the fight against microbes, and is the first of its kind in the industry, offering protection that has never before been possible, against deadly, silent killers.

Cellomed is only available through Celloglas
Heralded already as revolutionary by clients from medical professions, pharmaceutical organizations, catering and airline industries, this film offers a new kind of protection to staff, patients, and customers alike, killing deadly germs in their tracks.

The naked eye is only able to detect the presence of microbes once they have multiplied to hundreds of thousands, yet under the right conditions microbes can double in number every 15 to 12 minutes, and are dangerous well before they can be seen,

Clinical tests have been carried out to substantiate the claims, and revealed that Cellomed prevents the spread and growth of a diverse rage of microbes, including M.R.S.A and E.Coli (full report available on request), on the surface of a film, and the impact could be huge as whilst there has been falls in the number of MRSA outbreaks in hospitals this year, they have not been fast enough to meet the government's target to halve MRSA rates by next year based on the 2004 figure.**

Possible uses for the films include lamination for menus, greeting cards and medical records as well as packaging, and many other items that come into our contact.

Illustrating the company’s commitment to supporting the print industry with innovative products, Celloglas brings this product to printers to help them find new ways of supporting their clients, relevant to the world we live in.

Steve Middleton, Sales and Marketing Director at Celloglas said: “We are very proud to be able to offer this product to our printers, and corporate customers, as this is by far one of the most exciting developments to have come out of our industry in the last 10 years. We’re offering clients the opportunity to use laminate as a tool for protection against diseases being passed in their environments, making their surroundings not only safer, but often more cost effective due the the reduced wastage of throwing things away once a customer has touched it. With Cellomed the longevity of their products will increase massively, as they will be as safe on day 60 as on day 1.”

“We spent quite some time researching industry reaction before launching this and we’re pleased to say Cellomed has huge scope for many marketplaces”.

The film is available in silk or gloss and comes from a sustainable resource.

Cellomed® is exclusive to Celloglas and available at all 15 manufacturing sites.
