A few weeks ago, Foilworks Birmingham was successfully merged into the Celloglas Leicester opertaion, transferring staff and moving foiling and embossing equipment into the Leicester site.
Richard Gillgrass, Managing Director commented " Moving the Birmingham foiling business into Leicester has allowed us to realise some business synergies and enhance our sales strategy within the Midlands region as a specialist finisher".
As part of this site review it is also planned that the administrative head office site at Woodley, Reading will also transfer to the nearby Mirri and Celloglas operation at Theale Reading during the summer.
Celloglas has taken the decision to consolidate the two operations in Leeds. This involves a planned exit from the Seacroft site and the merger of specialist operations into Hunslet. Consultations with local staff are underway.
