Celloglas Leicester make short work of large twin coating jobs

The Heidelberg twin coater at Leicester regularly works through jobs from 100,000 to 750,000 sheets and can process up to 200,000 sheets in 24 hours with two coatings in one pass.

Any two of the finishes below can be combined in one pass;

Gloss varnish
Matt Varnish
Rough Matt
Velvet coating
Fragrance
Sealers
Re-moist gumming
Perforation
Creasing
Textured varnish
Pearlescent varnish

John Locke, Group Operations Manager at Celloglas Leicester commented “ The Heidelberg can varnish and crease in one pass, this is often used for magazine covers, we gloss varnish and crease the flap for an 8 page cover, we can turnaround 100,000 covers in one shift or 200,000 in 24 hours, saving our customers time and money.

The Heidelberg is often used along with other finishes like foiling. Magazine covers are finished with a metallic foil to the header, then a gloss varnish is applied over the top, due to the speed of the Heidelberg these jobs can be turned around very quickly.
